The Stamping Process

Step 1 Step 2

4" Standard gray or optional white concrete is poured in the traditional manner. Using a screed board, concrete is leveled and floated smooth.

Color hardener (pigmented cement) is broadcast on the surface and floated to a smooth finish. Color hardener increases the surface strength of the concrete.  Any optional highlight color is also applied during this step.

Step 3 Step 4

A release agent is broadcast on to the surface. Release agent provides the bond break between the concrete and the stamp mats, in addition to an optional secondary color.

Molded rubber mats are pressed into the concrete to provide the desired pattern (brick, stone, slate). Release agent keeps the mats from sticking to the concrete.

Step 5 Step 6

Excess release is cleaned off the surface once the surface has sufficiently cured. The surface is then detailed to prepare for the final sealing step.

Clear sealer is applied to “kick” up the color intensity and protect from the sun’s ultraviolet rays. Sealer also functions as the wear surface.
